Take a moment to open this time in prayer. Ask God to bless you as you read and reflect on the text.
Read 2 Kings 20: 1 – 6
Do you believe in miracles? Do you believe in supernatural healing? In this passage the Lord performs a miraculous healing in the life of Hezekiah. I used to read this passage and think, “oh that is nice,” but I never really believed in supernatural healing until I began to witness and experience supernatural healings myself. If God healed people in the Old Testament and the New Testament why can’t he heal people today? If there was ever a time to pray for supernatural healing for people now is the time. Let us all pray for healing in the world, the eradication of COVID-19 and for God to receive the credit for that healing.
Please use the following questions for more reflection.
When you read this text why do you believe that God chose to heal Hezekiah? Would God have healed Hezekiah if Hezekiah has not asked to be healed?
Do you believe in supernatural healing from God? What makes you believe in supernatural healing? If you don’t believe that God heals people today, why do you not believe this?
Does God always heal people when we ask? Why does God sometimes choose not to heal people?
Closing - Use the prayer below to end the devotion or close in prayer in your own words.
Gracious Heavenly Father, I thank you for your healing power. I pray right now for all those who need healing and pray that you would heal them. God, I also understand that not everyone is healed but I do not understand why. Help me to understand the mysteries behind why you do not always heal people. Amen
